On Thursday 3rd March 2022 it is World Book Day. World Book Day celebrates reading across the world and enables children to share their favourite authors and their brilliant stories. The charity also enables children across the UK to have access to books. If you would like to donate to the charity, you are welcome to send in a donation on the day. Alternatively, you may donate via www.worldbookday.com/fundraising.

As part of this lovely event, we welcome children to come to school in costume as a character from a book of their choice. During the day, we will be completing various activities and promoting reading for pleasure!

This year, as it is the 25th Anniversary of World Book Day, we will be celebrating with class parties. Children will be able to show their costumes to the rest of the school in our costume parade. Children may also bring in their favourite book to share with their class. Be sure to look out for photographs on Facebook during the day.

Your child will also bring home a £1 book token to swap at their local bookstore where they can use it to buy a book.

We look forward to seeing you in costume and celebrating reading as a School!
